A Story Worth Telling

Meet Ate Nita Mangaser, one of our very persistent and effective case workers in our Community Bail Bond program. Ate Nita interviews and monitors participants who are low risk, first time offenders who availed of our bail-release program.

She provides a detailed report on the personal and social history of the participants, walks through the hurdles of the legal process, and establishes trusting and caring relationships as a stepping stone for successful supervision.

She visits them in detention, finds their long lost relatives, secures them housing and food, and reconnects them for potential employment. She counsels and mentors.

She does these despite the challenges of Covid, the traffic in Metro Manila and other physical, social and emotional strains.

She serves as a hook for these people who are sinking in a sea of despair. She serves with so much love and compassion.

This is a story worth telling. This is a program worth replicating.

For if we are successful in reintegrating them back to society as law abiding and responsible citizens, we all gain.
