During the entire pandemic period, almost 10 months until this day, family visits to jails have NOT been allowed. Realizing the importance of the presence and support o of family as a component of rehabilitation, the Jail authorities implemented an E-DALAW Program wherein inmates are able to virtually talk with family members, friends and relatives at agreed specific dates and time. But since there are large inmate population in most jails, but quite inadequate government budget for laptops, tablets and even cellphones, the E-Program has not been fully implemented in many jails. Weekly Communication with families is indispensable for our inmates especially at this time of anxiety and seeming helplessness. Hence we appeal for laptops and tablets and cellphones (even second hand but still functional) for use in this Program. After all, Love of Family is still the number one Value for every Filipino... detained or not. This is as priceless as health and safety.
