Its been a six year journey towards the establishment of a human rights-based approach to effective jail management through the creation of the Classification, Risk Assessment and Case Management Program (CRACMP) and the development of a true Classification and Risk Assessment Tool (CRA Tool) for persons deprived of liberty. The journey pays off as it gets the full support of the BJMP's NCR Regional Office and National Headquarters! Pilot implementation of CRACMP and the CRA Tool began with the Manila City Jail Male and Quezon City Jail Male Dorms and will soon expand to five more NCR Jails after our recently concluded webinar training conducted from February 19 to April 9, 2022. At the concluding session of the training, both the NCRO and NHQ committed to the institutionalization of CRACMP and the CRA Tool within the year. We are excited for the next steps to be taken as we truly believe that the BJMP is well on its way to becoming the lead agency in Philippine correctional management.
