Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) stay in detention for long periods while undergoing trial. While the lenght of detention is long for everyone, (we have the longest pretrial detention in the world), it is particularly longer for certain religious faiths. Specifically, in our data, PDLs of the Islamic faith tend to stay as much as twice longer than PDLs of other faiths.

Thus, we have particularly sought participants who had stayed in detention who are considered low risk and bailable offender. And we are happy to report our first successfully bailed out offender who belongs to religious minority.
We hope to be as inclusive as possible in our quest for justice. This will help us lessen the cleavages of inequality in our society.
