Last September 3, our CBB Team met with representatives from the Cagayan Provincial Jail and the Cagayan State University College of Law to discuss the pilot implementation of our Community Bail Bond Program in the province. We are encouraged by the support of the provincial jail that has agreed to conduct monitoring activities of successfully released PDL under the CBB Program to ensure they attend their hearings. The CSU College of Law likewise has a legal assistance program which will support in the monitoring of released PDL. They likewise recommended engagement with the BJMP-run district jails in the province.
The provincial jail has already provided an initial list of referrals and we look forward to the successful release our first CBB client soon.
